Man charged with attempted murder following Edinburgh shooting

A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder following a shooting in Edinburgh.

A 23-year-old man was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries to his arm after a firearm was discharged on Hailesland Gardens on Thursday, 24 July.

Specialist firearms officers attended the scene while a search was carried out, and police maintained a presence in the area for several days afterwards.

The accused is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.
