Man injured after firearm discharged in Edinburgh

Police have launched an investigation after a firearm was discharged in a residential area of Edinburgh.

Officers were called to the Hailesland Gardens area around 3.40pm on Thursday afternoon.

A 23-year-old man later attended hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Specialist firearms officers were deployed to the scene, and police say extensive enquiries are ongoing.
