Ken has been with us for two years now and plays a mix of new country artists with a sprinkling of Irish country. He features more traditional country stars such as JonnyCash, George Jones and Tammy Wynette.
Ken says he lives and breathes country music and one of his fondest memories was meeting his idol, the late George Jones and his wife Nancy. The 'He stopped loving her today' singer was in Ballymena for a concert and Ken had the privilege of introducing him on stage.
He’s also rubbed shoulders with Garth Brooks and his partner Trisha in Belfast. The couple were in the city for a gig in the King’s Hall, Ken was scheduled to have a five-minute interview with the star but once they got talking it lasted for over an hour.
Ken has been on board with the Downtown Country team since it launched two years ago and was delighted to be involved from the outset.
He said: “Downtown Country will continue to keep growing and as time goes on its listenership will continue to increase as more and more people discover the new sound.”
