Over the last few years, the popular Summer series of ITV2 reality show Love Island has taken over our lives for a massive eight weeks, but that is all about to change for 2020!

As the Winter series is currently airing right now, meaning fans are being treat to not one, but two series in 2020, bosses have reportedly made the decision to cut short the Summer series to six weeks instead of the usual eight.

According to Broadcast, the decision has been made to prevent an overkill of the show, which is currently being hosted by Laura Whitmore.

Of course, if you've been a fan of Love Island since it first returned to our TV screens back in 2015, you'll be aware that the first two series only lasted six weeks, before bosses extended the show after it gained popularity.

Due to The 2020 UEFA European Football Championships taking place between 12th June and 12th July this year, it's also being reported that the start date of Love Island will be delayed until mid-July, to prevent any clashes on the ITV network.
