With just one week to go of the rebooted series of Celebrity Big Brother, and face-to-face nominations taking place last night, it's safe to say tensions are seriously rising inside the house.

Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has been causing a stir with her fellow housemates recently, and Thursday night's (14th March) episode saw her not take too kindly to being nominated by four of her co-stars, including Fern Britton and Marisha Wallace.

Ekin-Su's family have now taken to social media to release a statement following last night's episode, where they admitted 'last night was a really sad episode to watch'.

The statement read: 'Last night was a really sad episode to watch. Ekin-Su has always cared and worn her heart on her sleeve, and last night we saw that.

'What made last night a thousand times harder though is seeing and listening to hateful comments, trolling, name calling, and physical abuse threats. Nobody deserves this behaviour and to read some of what we did last night.

'CBB is a reality entertainment show that is edited to entertain us as viewers. We see an hour of that 24 hours each day, and the show is a social experiment that has been known to heighten emotions.

'We would like to thank those of you that have supported Ekin-Su. The love and kind words haven't gone unnoticed!

'Please remember, in a world where we can be anything, be kind. Love always. Team Ekin-Su'. (sic)

Former This Morning host Fern Britton delivered some harsh words to the 29-year-old during the face-to-face nominations, after Ekin previously chose to nominate Fern, accusing her of not asking questions about her life.

During Fern's nominations, she told Ekin: "We're talking about playing the game. I have asked you plenty of questions but... a lot of the times the answer hasn't been particularly enlightening. So you're right, I don't know much about you. I don't get you, you don't get me, that's fine.

"I sometimes think you're wearing a mask and I think that you might absorb a lot of people's personalities very quickly. And you're good at judging situations. It's mean but I feel the danger and I feel that I don't know the real you and that has disappointed me and disturbed me."

Ekin-Su then refused to take a kiss from Marisha, and later told the Broadway star she wasn't ready to forgive her, sarcastically telling her she hopes she goes on to win the show.

Ekin-Su joins Louis Walsh, Levi Roots, David Potts and Fern Britton up for eviction, with two housemates set to leave during the live show on Friday 15th March.

Viewers are now being urged to 'vote to save' their favourite celebs on the app.
