Clearly someone who doesn’t look back in anger, Matty Healy was spotted at Oasis’ first Heaton Park concert on Friday 11th July despite Noel Gallagher’s outspoken hatred for The 1975.
Back in 2023, Matty Healy called on Liam and Noel Gallagher to bury the hatchet and reunite Oasis.
“They need to grow up,” Healy said at the time. “They’re men of the people, and they’re sat around in, like, Little Venice and Highgate, crying over an argument with their brother. Grow up! Headline Glastonbury! Have a good time! Have a laugh!”
Responding to the comments, Noel dubbed Healy a “slack-jawed f---wit” and said he “needs to go over how s--- his band is and split up.”
A month later, he lambasted The 1975 for winning a BRIT Award, telling NME: “I was watching it with my kids, two teenage lads, thinking, ‘Is it me being a grumpy old man, or is this s---?’
“They were both going, ‘Oh no, this is f---ing s---’. The 1975, Best Rock Band? Someone needs to re-define that immediately because that is… I don’t know what that is, but it’s certainly not f---ing rock. Whatever rock is, that’s not it.”
Two years on from Noel's caustic comments, Matty Healy attended Oasis' first Manchester concert in 16 years on Friday.
Numerous fans shared photos and videos of Matty in the front standing area of Heaton Park singing along to songs and clearly having a great time.
Oasis continue their five-night Manchester Heaton Park residency on Wednesday 16th July.
