A jacket Liam Gallagher helped popularise in the late 90s has been re-released ahead of Oasis’ fervently awaited reunion tour this summer.

Liam Gallagher was photographed wearing the red Berghaus Meru jacket on stage at Oslo Spektrum on 8th September 1997 on the opening European date of Oasis’ Be Here Now world tour.

Described as ‘a defining image of the 1990s’, the Berghaus mountain jacket enjoyed a seismic wave of popularity 28 years ago, and it’s long been out of production.

Exactly five weeks before Oasis kick off their Live '25 Tour at Cardiff Principality Stadium, Berghaus is resurrecting the exact colourway Liam wore as part of a celebratory Concert Collection, this time with updated materials and refined construction.

It’s part of a limited-edition range that also includes a Trango jacket (as modelled by Liam Gallagher in January), bucket hats, and a throwback 1997 Fleece. You can see the Concert Collection range here.

“My first encounter with Berghaus was through my brother Noel. He purchased a green one in the late 80s and I was always pinching it off him,” Liam Gallagher said back in January.

"They were all the rage, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one of my own. I thought to myself ‘when I’m rich and famous I’m getting myself one.’ I finally did that and I’ve still got it to this day. To be asked to work with them on their comeback means a lot.”

Oasis’ reunion tour features 19 sold-out UK & Ireland shows visiting Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin. Richard Ashcroft and Cast are the support at all dates.

Noel Gallagher, guitarists Bonehead and Gem Archer, bassist Andy Bell and drummer Joey Waronker have all been photographed at rehearsals in recent weeks.
