Last updated 26th Mar 2026
Earlier this year, Zayn released his single 'Die For Me', and surprised fans by revealing the name, release date and artwork for his fifth solo album, 'Konnakol'.
Sharing the exciting news with his fans on Wednesday 4th February, the singer's album artwork features a black and white photo of the singer's face, which blends into one of a big cat, a snow leopard, which is 'a profound symbol in South Asia', showing how Zayn's heritage has inspired his record.
Zayn captioned the photo: 'It’s that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album…
'My new album, KONNAKOL, out April 17
'“Die for Me” is out this Friday'.
Speaking about his new album, Zayn said: "It’s that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album… KONNAKOL in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper.
"It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go."
Since the initial announcement of the album, Zayn has now revealed he will be releasing another song from it called 'Sideways' on 27th March.
What is the album called?
The album is called 'Konnakol' which is 'the South Indian Carnatic art of performing complex percussion syllables vocally, acting as a rhythmic language for composition and education'. It has been described as his 'most culturally inspired project to date'.
When will it be released?
Zayn has confirmed it will be released on 17th April 2026.
