Pop icon Kim Wilde has now released her highly anticipated 15th studio album, 'Closer'. The 80s singer famed for 'Kids In America' announced the news back in August, alongside the release of her single 'Trail of Destruction'.

'Closer' is Kim’s first studio album since 2018’s 'Here Come The Aliens' and brings more hits, including a song with Midge Ure, alongside that unmistakable voice. Intended as a companion piece to her fan-favourite 1988 album 'Close', this new offering is made up of a combination of pop, rock and dance.

On the album's release day, Kim shared a video on Instagram captioning it: 'CLOSER IS OUT NOW! Available on CD, black vinyl, limited edition white vinyl, download and streaming... ❤️'.

'Trail of Destruction'

As well as announcing her album last year, Kim released 'Trail of Destruction', with a music video. The video shows the blonde pop sensation rocking her signature studded leather jacket and sunglasses.

Talking about her new single, Kim said: "I wanted a connection to 'Stone' from my 'Close' album in 1988, as well as referencing Jack Black’s 60’s-referencing 'Sticking it to the man' speech from School of Rock. ‘Stone’ was a protest about the ‘man’ taking ownership of our planet and not keeping their promises to stop messing it up. 'Trail of Destruction' is a protest for a new generation."
