After it was announced back in January that the upcoming seventh series of comedy drama series Brassic would be the last, star of the show Michelle Keegan has now revealed filming has wrapped.

Taking to Instagram to pay an emotional tribute to the popular show, which first hit our screens back in 2019, Michelle shared a number of photos, writing: 'Goodbye Erin 😭 …

'So finally the Brassic journey has come to an end (feels so strange saying that) and what an unbelievable 7 years it’s been. I feel so privileged to have been a small part of such a mighty show.

'From the moment I read the 1st script I knew this job was going to be special & it definitely was.

'Thank you to everyone who worked on the show over the years for the laughs, friendship and more importantly the memories… What a magical 7 years we had ✨❤️'. (sic)

Michelle's fans and friends from the show were quick to comment, with one writing: 'I still can’t believe this will be the last season ever. Brassic is Brilliant 🙌'. Another wrote: 'Thank you for giving us Erin Croft she is so special and has been incredible to watch❤️ Erin Croft forever❤️'.

A third added: 'A series I’ll be watching over and over absolutely brilliant! 👏', with another writing: 'Awwwww 😢 this has made my Monday sad 😩 brassic is honestly one of the best series I’ve ever watched. I love the cast ♥️ Vinnie 🫶🏼 I just want to hug him. So sad it’s gonna be over but I’ll keep watching it over and over 🤣♥️'. (sic)

After filming a number of scenes whilst pregnant last year, Michelle returned to the set of Brassic to wrap filming over the last few weeks, following the birth of her daughter Palma back in March.

The comedy series, which airs on Sky, follows the lives of Vinnie O'Neill (Joe Gilgun) and his friends as they commits petty crimes to keep money in their pockets.

Following a huge cliffhanger on the sixth series, Brassic creator Danny Brocklehurst confirmed the next series would be the last, saying: "When Joe Gilgun and I sat down to create Brassic, we couldn't have imagined, in our wildest dreams, that we would do seven series and gather such a loyal and loving fan base.

'It's been a complete joy to create this eccentric world, but all good things must come to an end, and we want to stop while we are still riding high. Maybe they can finally give us that BAFTA."

Brassic was nominated for a BAFTA Award at this month's ceremony, but the show lost out to BBC Two series Alma's Not Normal in the Comedy category.
