FX's The Bear: When is the fifth and final season on Disney+?

Since its debut on Disney+ in 2022, FX series The Bear has become increasingly popular, with the psychological comedy-drama now boasting four acclaimed series. Starring Jeremy Allen White as lead character Carmy Berzatto, the first season earned a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and went on to win several prestigious awards, including Golden Globes, Primetime Emmys, and People's Choice Awards.

Following the cliffhanger ending of the fourth series, which dropped in June last year, Disney+ have now announced the release date for the fifth and final series.

Will there be more series?

Yes! The Bear has been renewed for a fifth series!

John Landgraf, Chairman of FX, said: "The Bear continues to be a fan favourite worldwide and their response to this season - as seen through incredibly high viewership - has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons. Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story."

Although we don't want to give away too many spoilers about the ending to series four, it left fans of the show demanding answers following a cliffhanger ending.

When is The Bear season 5 out?

The fifth and final season of The Bear arrives on Disney+ on 26th June 2026.

Posting the date reveal on social media, Disney+ shared artwork for the finale, writing: 'The final season. FX’s The Bear premieres June 26th on Disney+.'

The past four series of The Bear arrived in June 2025.

What is The Bear about?

Originally streaming on Hulu before landing on Disney+, FX drama The Bear follows Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, a brilliant young fine-dining chef who returns to his hometown of Chicago to take over his late brother’s run-down sandwich shop, The Original Beef of Chicagoland.

As he tries to transform the shop into something greater, Carmy is joined by Sydney, a talented and ambitious sous-chef, and Richie, his volatile 'cousin', as they clash and grow in pursuit of culinary excellence.

The series visits a number of themes as it highlights the high-stress world of restaurant kitchens, including family, grief, legacy and redemption.

Where is it filmed?

Filming primarily takes place in Chicago, Illinois, with most scenes shot at Mr. Beef, which is located at 666 N Orleans Street. Some scenes for the show were also shot at Cinespace Chicago Film Studios.
