Back in June, Olivia Rodrigo announced the name and release date for her highly-anticipated second album called 'Guts'. The album is out now and features her comeback song 'Vampire' and 'Bad Idea Right?'.

Fans can also now look forward to the release of a special Black Friday vinyl called 'GUTS: the secret tracks', which will include all four of her 'secret' Guts tracks. Previously, Olivia released four different variants of her 'Guts' LP, with each one featuring a 'secret' track.

'GUTS: the secret tracks' will be available to purchase in participating Record Store Day shops on 24th November, with limited copies available. Any remaining copies can then be purchased from the participating record store's websites from 25th November. The four extra tracks are called 'Obsessed', 'Scared of My Guitar', 'Stranger' and 'Girl I've Always Been.'

On release day of 'Guts', Olivia shared a heartfelt handwritten letter with her fans, telling them she had so many feelings about releasing the album. She wrote: 'Today is the day! My sophomore album, GUTS, is out everywhere!!! I feel so many feelings.

'I feel excited, nervous, proud, but mostly I feel so grateful. I feel grateful for everyone on my team who believes in me and supports me so unwaveringly.'

She continued: 'I feel grateful for my collaborator Dan who pushes me and inspires me and without whom this album wouldn’t have been possible. And lastly, I feel so immensely grateful for everyone who has so generously supported me over the past few years. Thank you to everyone who has listened and streamed and been sooo kind. I owe so much to you guys and I really hope you dig these new songs. Lots and lots of love xo, Liv'. (sic)

Olivia previously told us 'Guts' and how she found it 'tricky' at times to work on it: "But I stuck with it and I kind of had to shift my mindset into trying to make an album that was just something that I would enjoy listening to and that sounds really simple, but just thinking about making music for that sole purpose makes it so much more fun."

Last year, Olivia won her first BRIT Award and also released a Disney+ documentary called driving home 2 u, about her debut album.

The 'Good 4 U' singer told Billboard last year in an interview: "I have a title for my next album and a few songs. It’s really exciting to think about the next world that’s coming up for me.

"I just love writing songs. I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself. (I want to) just sort of explore and have fun right now," Olivia explained.

Despite having huge success with her first album, the pop star admitted to still writing songs in her bedroom. "I still write so much of my music in my bedroom though," Olivia said: "And I don’t think that experience will ever change. Writing songs will hopefully always be an outlet for me to process my feelings before anything else."

Speaking about pop music, Olivia revealed: "I love how increasingly genreless pop music is becoming. Pop music can mean so many different things, and I really love hearing so many different flavours of it these days.

"I am also just really excited about female singer-songwriters and how honestly and truthfully they’re speaking up. That’s always really inspiring to me. It’s so exciting to me to watch young women’s voices be heard and appreciated and celebrated in the ways that they have been lately. I just can’t wait to cheer on the future, my peers and future generations of female singer-songwriters."

Olivia also revealed in the interview that she has been working with Dan Nigro, the collaborator she worked with on her debut record. "I absolutely love working with Dan. We have such a good groove together," Olivia said.

Continuing: "We are always sharing ideas back-and-forth and have been carving out time to work together in the studio. The craziness of Sour being out in the world was something that really only Dan and I could relate to, and I think that has brought us closer together. I trust him so much and really enjoy the music we’ve been making."

Olivia joined us for For The Record, where she broke down the writing process of 'Vampire' as well as telling us about working on 'Guts'. On 'Guts' she told us: "So the first few months of writing the album (‘Guts’) I remember were really tricky and I felt a little lost.

"But I stuck with it and I kind of had to shift my mindset into trying to make an album that was just something that I would enjoy listening to and that sounds really simple, but just thinking about making music for that sole purpose makes it so much more fun."

Where was Olivia's album written?

Some of the new album 'Guts' was written and recorded in New York City, Olivia revealed in an interview with Vogue the reason why. She said: "I think New York is so inspiring and every day of my life I just try and be more and more like Carrie Bradshaw, so..."
