James Arthur released his song 'Celebrate' back in January, the second single from his upcoming album 'Pisces', due out later this year. The singer had been teasing his song on social media, as well as taking his fans on the songwriting process.

Before the song's release, James shared a video of himself in a studio, where he played his song on the piano. He told his fans how he had taken his song from 'a simple piano idea like this', before playing a clip of the song, later showing a clip of him performing it live in front of his fans.

On the day of the song's release (17th January), James celebrated the release of the song by posting a short video on Instagram, captioning it: 'Making content is my favourite

'Celebrate. Out Now 🩵'.

One fan wrote: 'I am listening to it on repeat ❤️', with another commenting: 'James you just keep delivering. Such a deep meaning song. Best artist in the world by a mile. Thankyou again for this masterpiece 🔥👏'.

A third fan said: 'Celebrate is omg gets me so emotional I love your smile so much 💖 xxx'.

Why did he write 'Celebrate'?

James revealed in an interview with Hits Radio his reason for writing his new song. He explained he wrote the song because he's not very good at celebrating!

He said: "Even when I've had really amazing things happen to me, like Number 1s and things like that, I'm just like... Maybe there's a bit of like not feeling deserving of it or something? I don't know. It became quite apparent after a few songs, songs like 'Celebrate' that I was like maybe making the more sort of personal record."

James went on to explain how his album 'Pisces' is full of similar songs: "When you look into the characteristics of a Pisces, typically they're very creative, sensitive, dreamy... Dreamers, like essentially, so I thought well, that could be the kind of yard stick for all of the songs. As long as they feel like me, what it feels like to be me, then they'll make the cut."

Is there a music video for 'Celebrate'?

Yes, there is a music video, it was released on 29th January and features James standing in a house while there's a house party going on around him.

Then, in February, the singer released a fan lyric video, which featured his fans holding the lyrics to his song, written on paper as the song plays.
