Netflix confirm release date for The Night Agent series 2 in new trailer
The show has also been renewed for a third series
Despite shows such as You, Wednesday and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story all dropping on Netflix in 2023, it was thriller series The Night Agent which topped the most-watched chart, with fans across the globe obsessed with low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland.
Following the major success of series one, it's no surprise Netflix bosses were quick to renew the show, and now some very exciting details have been revealed about the upcoming second instalment.
It was announced back in June that filming had wrapped for series two, and now Netflix have finally dropped the first trailer, and a release date!
When is it out?
Series two of The Night Agent will start on Thursday 23rd January 2025.
The news was announced on Wednesday 14th November, as Netflix bosses released the first trailer for series two.
How many episodes?
Episode details are yet to be revealed, but if series two follows the same format as the first, it will be made up of 10 episodes.

What is the plot?
Whilst the first series of the show was based on Matthew Quirk's novel of the same name, there was never a second book, meaning the second series will be entirely an original story.
Although no plot details have been announced just yet, writer Shawn Ryan previously expressed his idea on the storylines.
Speaking to TV Line in April 2023, he said: "So it's something that with the pickup we're now working on.
"I would say that Sutherland's first mission as a Night Agent will be the starting-off point, to sort of see what he was being sent off to do. But we have some surprises. I don't want to say too much, because until you're actually filming it, the stories can always change."
We do also know that the location has changed for series two, with Shawn adding: "Season 2 does not take place in the D.C. area, which is where Season 1 took place. So we'll be in a different part of the world exploring different characters than we had in Season 1. And we're determining who from Season 1 might appear in Season 2.
"But essentially we're going to be telling a whole brand new story, which is exciting and scary. And with the high bar that Season 1 set for audience expectations, we feel that pressure too. And so we're just going to do our best to tell a story that feels within The Night Agent universe, but that feels new, fresh, and exciting."
When was the second series announced?
Less than one week after series one was released in March 2023, Netflix bosses confirmed the thriller series had been renewed for a second series.
Showrunner Shawn Ryan shared in a statement at the time: "To see the tremendous reaction to the show has been a great joy and is a credit to our cast, our writers, our directors, our crew and our partners at Sony Pictures Television and Netflix.
"We couldn't be any prouder or more excited to get cracking on season two to share the further adventures of Night Action with our newfound fans."
Will there be any more series?

Bosses cnfirmed the news in a post on Tuesday 8th October, writing: 'A very important The Night Agent transmission 🚨
