The Masked Singer's Sloth revealed as explorer and broadcaster Ben Fogle
Sloth was full of energy!
Last updated 9th Feb 2026
The Masked Singer returned to our screens last month, bringing more wacky characters and setting the Internet alight with theories. But one masked celebrity fans were scrambling to uncover was Sloth.
Who is Sloth?
Despite many people believing it was Hits Radio host Sam Thompson, the energetic character was revealed in last Saturday's (7th February) double unmasking as broadcaster and explorer, Ben Fogle!
Ben joked that he wasn't a natural-born singer, but said it was "so fun" to take part. He said after being unmasked: "Listen, my singing wasn’t going to get me very far. So I realised early on, if I was going to stand a chance of getting anywhere in this show — and I made it to the semi finals, that’s not bad is it — I had to bring this to life.
"I could only do that with a lot of energy and honestly, I don’t think I’ve sweated that much in a very long time."
Sloth was unmasked in the semi-final, after singing 'We All Stand Together' by Paul McCartney and the Frog Chorus. Fans said online: 'I wasn't even close 😭 I would have never guessed that well done Ben 👏' and 'He was brilliant 👏'.
Following his performance of Matthew Wilder's 'Break My Stride' on Sunday 4th January, fans took to social media in their droves to declare the secret singer was 2023's I'm a Celeb King of the Jungle, Sam. But despite Sam playing along and sending tongues wagging even further, they were proven to be wrong.
The super sleuths were joined in their theory by Masked Singer judge Maya Jama, who said the jungle references, alarm clock radio and high-energy routine all lead her to believe it was Sam.
He later took to Instagram to respond, sharing a cheeky video of him raising his eyebrows suspiciously, and writing: "Apparently I’m the sloth!"
Fans had been tagging Sam in pictures of Sloth, writing '@samthompsonuk is this you?'. While another wrote: 'Sloth was most definitely giving Sam Thompson energy.'
Other guesses from the judges included Joe Wicks, Ronnie O'Sullivan and Chris Moyles, while fans watching at home guessed Tom Allen, Tom Felton and correctly...Ben Fogle!
The Masked Singer finale airs Saturday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
