On Wednesday 16th July, dance music fans and DJs across the world were left in shock as pictures of Tomorrowland's main stage, engulfed in flames, were being shared on social media.

That night, the festival was quick to reassure fans that no one had been injured during the fire, and confirmed the campsite, DreamVille, would be opening on Thursday, as scheduled. Then, on 17th July, the festival issued two further updates for fans, with a fourth on Friday 18th confirming they had a new main stage setup.

Is Tomorrowland going ahead?

Yes, Tomorrowland will still be going ahead, despite the fire which has destroyed the main stage. Since the devastating fire, fans have been kept up-to-date by organisers. On Friday 18th July they confirmed they have a new main stage setup, so will be opening as planned. The main stage will open at 4pm on Friday.

Tomorrowland statements

18th July - 12.20 CEST

Tomorrowland confirmed they have been working through the night to get a new setup for the main stage. They told their fans: 'Dear People of Tomorrow, WE ARE READY FOR YOU!

'Our teams are working day and night, with heart and soul, to turn the impossible into reality: Tomorrowland Belgium 2025 will open doors at 14:00.

'An alternative setup for the beloved Mainstage is planned to open at 16:00, pending any last-minute changes. All artists will perform as scheduled on all other stages as from 14:00.

'Tomorrowland will unite, stronger than ever!'

17th July - 18.00 CEST

At 5pm BST festival organisers revealed they are working really hard following the fire. They have revealed two possible scenarios. A statement on the website reads:

SCENARIO 1:

If the main stage area can be secured and a new setup completed, the festival grounds will open as planned for all visitors and all ticket types.

SCENARIO 2:

If we are unable to open at full visitor capacity, DreamVille and the festival grounds will function as two separate areas on Friday to ensure the safety of all guests. In this case:

· The Gathering Stage at DreamVille will host the main stage artists originally scheduled for Friday, July 18.

· DreamVille visitors will not be able to access the festival grounds.

· The festival grounds (without the main stage) will be open to all other visitors (Friday Day Pass, Global Journey Hotel Packages, and Full Madness Pass holders).

In both scenarios, doors will open at 14:00 (and not at 12:00).

Their full statement can be read here.

17th July - 10.22am CEST

Following the festival's initial announcement, where they confirmed that thankfully no one had been injured, they confirmed that doors to DreamVille, the campsite, opened at 10am this morning.

16th July: 8.30pm CEST

Following photos of the devastation, the festival was quick to issue an update confirming no one had been injured. They also reassured fans that they were looking at solutions for the festival weekend, due to start on Friday 18th July.

They wrote: 'Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged.

'We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.

'We can announce that, DreamVille (campsite) will open tomorrow (Thursday, July 17) as planned and will be ready for all DreamVille visitors.

'All Global Journey activities in Brussels and Antwerp will take place as planned.

'We are focused on finding solutions for the festival weekend (Friday – Saturday – Sunday).

'More updates and detailed information will be communicated as soon as possible.'
