Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, the DJ supergroup better known as Swedish House Mafia, are the DJ's behind 'Don't You Worry Child', 'Save The World', and they have now released their latest single 'See The Light'.

The new song, which was released on 26th May is featured on the soundtrack of EA Sports' Formula 1 soundtrack, and comes ahead of two UK gigs, an intimate gig in London, followed by their festival set at Creamfields South.

In March 2023, after headlining at Ultra Music Festival Swedish House Mafia announced a one-off gig in Ibiza. The group will be taking to the stage at the iconic outdoor nightclub Ushuaïa in July 2023.

Who is in Swedish House Mafia?

Swedish House Mafia is made up of childhood friends Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, along with Axwell - full name Axel Christofer Hedfors. All three DJs had success individually before forming the supergroup, with Steve and Seb having a chance meeting with Axwell in the early 2000s.

Sebastian Ingrosso started out in the music industry in 1999 releasing a remix and four years later he created his own label called Refune Music.

As a solo DJ Seb has released a lot of music, his most successful to date was 'Reload' in 2013 featuring Tommy Trash and John Martin. The song reached the Top 5 in the UK and was also nominated for Best Song at the Grammys.
After Swedish House Mafia split in 2013 Seb and Axwell toured as a duo called Axwell & Ingrosso.

Axwell

Axwell's full name is Axel Christofer Hedfors. The Swedish DJ's biggest hit in the UK as a solo DJ is 'I Found U', which he released in 2007. The catchy dance tune reached Number 6 in the UK.
Axwell has also been nominated for three Grammys and won four DJ Awards.

Steve Angello

Steve Angello real name Steven Patrik Josefsson Fragogiannis has released solo music under a number of aliases including Supermode, A&P Project and Who's Who.
In 2008 he released 'Show Me Love' with Laidback Luke featuring Robin S which was a hit in the UK reaching Number 11.

Is Eric Prydz part of Swedish House Mafia?

Despite joining Swedish House Mafia at gigs a number of times in the early days, Eric Prydz - known for his massive 2004 hit 'Call on Me', never joined the other three DJs when Swedish House Mafia was officially formed in 2008.

Are Swedish House Mafia together?

Yes, Swedish House Mafia are back together after originally splitting up in 2013. The group reunited in March 2018 at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

Why did Swedish House Mafia break up?

Swedish House Mafia broke up in March 2013, performing their last gig at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, at the end of their 52-date 'One Last Tour' which saw them perform around the world.

It was in June 2012 when the group announced they were to split, a message on their website read: 'Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We came, we raved, we loved.' (Referencing one of their songs.)

In an interview with the BBC Sebastian, then revealed: "We were drained, we were tired. So, of course there was tension and irritation.

"I mean, if you move in with your best friend, you will have tension with him too. That's how it works.

"Now that we're a little bit older and wiser, we look back and realise we needed a break. We needed to miss each other. We needed to miss making music together again."

When did Swedish House Mafia reunite?

Swedish House Mafia first reunited in March 2018 at Ultra Music Festival in Miami. This was the same festival where they played their last gig before splitting in March 2013. The group had not been announced as the Sunday night headliners, but fans had noticed trios of logos popping up around the city, something that Swedish House Mafia are known for.

When the time for the headline slot arrived the stage went dark before their song 'Miami to Ibiza' played out. The DJs then appeared on a huge elevated stage surrounded by pyro, as Axwell grabbed the microphone saying: "My name is Axwell, this is Sebastian Ingrosso, and this is Steve Angello, and Miami, you know that we are the Swedish House Mafia."

'Don't You Worry Child'

'Don't You Worry Child' is the group's biggest single. Not only has it been nominated for a Best Dance Recording Grammy Award in 2013, it reached Number 1 around the world, including in the UK and their native Sweden.

The music video has now been viewed more than 800 million times on YouTube.

'Miami 2 Ibiza' vs Tinie Tempah

'Miami 2 Ibiza' was Swedish House Mafia's second song and featured on their debut compilation album, it was also included on Tinie's debut album Disc-Overy released in 2010 and was a Top 5 hit for the group.

'Save The World'

'Save The World' was a Top 10 song for Swedish House Mafia. The song featured John Martin (who also sang 'Don't You Worry Child'), and was nominated for a 2012 Grammy for Best Dance Recording.

When are Swedish House Mafia on tour?

Swedish House Mafia have now finished their 'Paradise Again' tour and have not announced another one. The group did headline Ultra Music Festival in March 2023, and have announced an exclusive one-off gig at Ushuaïa Ibiza - the world's most iconic outdoor stage.

They also have been announced for both Creamfields festivals here in the UK, and several dates in Central and South America.

Before their tour, Swedish House Mafia revealed some of the songs that are on their 'Paradise Again' tour set list. The set list includes both songs that are from their album of the same name as well as songs released before their break-up in 2013.

The Instagram post only shows one page of three, but fans of their older music will not be disappointed, with songs such as 'Miami 2 Ibiza', 'Greyhound' and 'Antidote'.

Did Swedish House Mafia perform at Coachella?

Yes, it was announced in April 2022 that Swedish House Mafia would headline the Sundays at Coachella, with The Weeknd. The festival had previously announced Kanye West would headline, but when he pulled out, the 'Save The World' DJs were revealed as replacements along with the Canadian singer, The Weeknd.

Swedish House Mafia, had already previously been confirmed for the festival along with Harry Styles and Billie Eilish.

The group have now uploaded a short video from Coachella of their fantastic song 'Heaven Takes You Home'. The video shows the impressive set, with a huge circle suspended above the three DJs.

What is Swedish House Mafia's album called?

Swedish House Mafia's latest album, and only studio album is called 'Paradise Again'. The album is out now and was finished in February 2022, according to the group who simply wrote: 'ALBUM IS DONE' on social media.

On the day of the album's release, the group posted a photo of their iconic three circles simply saying: 'Album OUT NOW - The journey to Paradise Again has just begun! LINK IN BIO'.

The group have released two previous compilation albums called 'Until One' and 'Until Now', however 'Paradise Again' will be their first studio album.

On 7th April 2023, Swedish House Mafia announced the full track list for the album saying: 'The Walk to Paradise Again'.

Swedish House Mafia have worked with a number of different artists over the years, below are some of their biggest collabs.

'One (Your Name)' with Pharrell Williams

'One (Your Name)' with Pharrell Williams was the group's debut single and a Top 10 hit. The song has three versions, 'One' which is instrumental and 'One (Your Name)' which features Pharrell were initially released.
In January 2022 'One Symphony' was released. The classical rendition of their hit was featured on Swedish House Mafia's 2019 tour when they reunited.

'Miami 2 Ibiza' with Tinie Tempah

'Miami 2 Ibiza' was the follow-up to 'One' and was a Top 5 hit for the group. It was featured on Swedish House Mafia's compilation albums and on Tinie's debut album Disc-Overy released in 2010.

'Don't You Worry Child' with John Martin

'Don't You Worry Child' is the group's biggest song. Featuring Swedish singer John Martin, the song was a Number 1 hit around the world.

'Moth To a Flame' with The Weeknd

Teaming up with Canadian singer The Weeknd, Swedish House Mafia released 'Moth To a Flame', the song is featured on their upcoming album 'Paradise Again'.

'Redlight' with Sting

Sting teamed up with Swedish House Mafia on their song 'Redlight'. The song draws influence from The Police's hit 'Roxanne'.
