Ella Henderson has now released her new single 'Me & You', revealing the inspiration behind the song, and the journey behind her other recent songs 'Filthy Rich' and 'One Door Closes' featuring country singer Breland.

What is the inspiration behind her song?

The day before the song's release, Ella shared a video where she revealed the inspiration behind the song and also how she got there, releasing her previous songs 'Filthy Rich' and 'One Door Closes'.

She told her fans: "I'm so excited for you to hear this one, I just want to tell you a little bit about what it's about...

"Starting with a record like 'Filthy Rich' in this campaign, that song was all about the people I love and the people that mean the most to me, and are just in my life and are there for me unconditionally."

She continued: "Going from there into 'One Door Closes', which was a really important piece of music for me to share with you all, because I think that was a lot about my own self growth and accepting closure on things, and learning how to let go of the things that aren't right for you and to kind of be excited for what's to come in life.

"I guess that then leads into this next single, which is all about me unexpectedly falling in love with my soulmate and the love of my life. I just can't believe this even has happened to me.

"I was always the person that thought I was unlucky in love and I wouldn't be dreaming of having a ring on my finger till I'm an old woman that has loads of dogs one day, and I just can't wait for you all to hear this record. I'm so excited. I hope you're all excited. This song is from me to all of you and it's called 'Me & You'. I hope you love it as much as I did making it."

Is there a music video?

Not yet, but Ella has released a visualiser which features her and her fiancé Jack.

In the run up to the song's release, Ella shared several videos, she said: 'Wrote this four weeks ago.. and so excited to tell you it’s coming out next Friday!! Really excited for you to hear this one! Presave now 🩷 E x x'. (sic)

Fans were left very excited to hear more new music from Ella, with one commenting on her video: 'YASSSS!! Cant wait for this one, and when you say new track its NEW new 😍', and another saying: 'You just can't write a bad song 😂😂 love it x x x x x'.

Ella is currently engaged to Jack Burnell, and opened up to Hits Radio back in 2023 about delaying her big day until 2025. She said: "Do you know what? We were both just like, let's not talk about planning it this year (2023). I've got so much going on and he's so busy with work. So it's just like, let's not talk about it. Maybe 2025?

"I'm quite enjoying being engaged, I quite like it. It's a lovely period and I feel like, your wedding day is such a special moment, I kind of don't want it to happen too soon, because I've got nothing to look forward to!"

She then added: "Also, I just can't decide what kind of wedding I want, I change it every week."
