Golf isn't just for gentleman of a certain age - it's just as much fun for women of all ages.

That's the message from the PGA and Scottish Golf Union.

They're launching their new campaign, 'This Girl Golfs' at the Women's Open which starts today at Turnberry, Ayrshire.

It's been supported by Ladies Tour star Charley Hull and BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty.

The video campaign called #ThisGirlGolfs is designed to shift the perception that it’s a man’s game, and inspire participation by showcasing women who are already enjoying the game at all levels.

The short film below women and girls of all ages and backgrounds showing how they fit golf into their lives and enjoy the game.

Charley and fellow pro Henni Zuël, are joined by amateurs traveling to practice sessions on the tube, honing their skills at urban driving ranges, and learning how to play golf.

Ross Duncan from the Scottish Golf Union says: "I think in the past there's been a perception that golf is a bit stuffy, it's just for men a lot of the time, it's no accessible or it's a bit expensive and you have to wear certain clothes, when in reality it's actually a much more accessible game.

"It's a game anyone can enjoy, you don't have to be a great player to enjoy it because of the handy cap system. You can have kids as young as four or five playing and grandparents who still play competitively."
