Woman airlifted to hospital after falling from highest point on Arran

The Island's Mountain Rescue Team were called out on Wednesday afternoon

A woman's escaped with a leg injury after falling from Arran's highest peak.

The Arran Mountain Rescue Team were called to the Goat Fell path at around 1pm on Wednesday September 7.

She was taken to hospital by a Coastguard helicopter, where she was treated for a lower leg injury.

A statement on the mountain rescue team's Facebook page said: "The teams two Argo Cats were utilised which transported all team members swiftly to the casualties location.

"After assessing her injuries, she was made comfortable, packaged into our stretcher and evacuated to hospital by Rescue 199.

"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and thank everyone involved for their help."
