Vandalism costing thousands caused at Largs Hydro Site

Officers are continuing enquiries following the vandalism of plant machinery at Halkshill Hydro site, Gogo Glen, Largs. Three items of plant machinery were damaged in acts of malicious vandalism, smashing cab windows and causing damage worth around £11,500. Officers believe the machinery was vandalised between 3.00pm on Saturday 4 June and 8.00am Monday 8 June 2016, possibly by bricks and rocks. The plant machinery was parked on the access road near to Greeto Falls which is an area widely used by walkers and those who enjoy the outdoors. Given the recent spell of warm weather, officers know that many people will have been in the area during the time in question and are appealing to people to contact them with any information they may have. All information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove vital for the investigation and help officers find those responsible for the thousands of pounds of damage.
