Canadian coffee chain Tim Horton’s has announced it's opening a restaurant in Ayr.

The exact location is not yet known, but the chain says it will be near the Whitletts Roundabout.

It’s part of a nationwide rollout plan, with more locations across the UK being revealed over the coming months.

The expansion is expected to bring more job opportunities to Ayr. There is a range of roles available at Tim Hortons.

The first Tim Hortons restaurant in the UK opened on Argyle Street in Glasgow at the start of June 2017, and saw hungry fans travel from across the country and queuing overnight to be the first to sample the brand’s popular coffee and donuts.

Tim Hortons was founded by its namesake, a top professional ice hockey player, who wanted to create a space where everyone would feel at home. Now one of Canada’s most iconic brands, nearly eight out of 10 cups of coffee sold across Canada are served at Tim Hortons and more than 5.3 million Canadians – approximately 15 per cent of the population – visit the café daily.

Across the UK, Tim Hortons will offer an extensive and varied menu of delicious drinks, which include Tim Hortons signature freshly brewed coffee, espresso-based beverages, hot chocolate, French Vanilla and classic frozen Iced Capp drink, as well as baked goods, breakfast and lunch items made from quality ingredients. Guests can also look forward to Tim Hortons signature Timbits, bite-sized doughnuts which come in a variety of flavours.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Finance and Commercial Officer of the Tim Hortons franchise in the UK said: “We’re excited to be bringing our expansion to the beautiful town of Ayr – our sixth store in Scotland. The buzz we’ve seen since our first opening in Glasgow last summer has exceeded all expectations and we can’t wait to open our doors and welcome Guests from the Ayr community at our brand new restaurant very soon”.
