Another family, who know all too well how dangerous the A77 in Ayr can be, is backing our "Joan's Legacy" campaign.

We're calling for speed cameras to be installed between the Whitletts and Bankfield roundabouts. It's the only stretch of the road not to have them.

It's after the death of Joan Price, a 59 year-old mum from Troon, who was killed in a crash in January 2017 caused by two boy racers.

But now another family has come forward giving their support to the campaign.

Alan Kennedy, 56, was killed on the same stretch of road 13 years-ago in a crash that was almost identical to Joan's. He'd been travelling home with his family after visiting his daughter in hospital when a car ploughed head on into them. Alan died instantly.

It later emerged the other car had been racing and the woman behind the wheel was convicted and jailed for causing death by dangerous driving.

You can support Joan's Legacy and our calls for speed cameras by signing and sharing our petition which can be found here.
