Saturday's Scottish Grand National at Ayr is a complete sell out with the 17,000 tickets selling out just after noon today.

It is the second year in succession the Saturday of the two day meeting has hit capacity with last year’s final few tickets being sold around an hour before the first race.

Ayr Managing Director David Brown said : “We are absolutely delighted to sell out a few days in advance. It shows the popularity of this meeting – Scotland’s biggest and richest jumps race day.

“We are looking forward to welcoming a bumper crowd who will see some top racing with virtually all of the major stables in the UK and Ireland likely to be represented and of course we also have the battle for the British Trainers Championship between Willie Mullins and Paul Nicholls being played out adding to the occasion.”

There are both Club and Grandstand tickets available for Friday’s Ladies Day at the course.
