Rail commuters facing major disruption in Glasgow

Commuters are being urged to find alternative ways to travel today.

Damage to overhead lines just outside Glasgow Central Station has forced Scotrail to cancel the majority of its services on Sunday.

As a result services to and from the station's high level are disrupted.

The train company has apologised after services ground to a halt at about 21:15 on Saturday, leaving many commuters stranded.

Passengers had to be freed and led to safety by Scotrail staff from trains on high level routes.

Replacement buses have been arranged and customers with valid train tickets can travel on First Glasgow and McGills buses.
