Police appeal after possible sighting of missing man

Search dogs and a rescue helicopter have been called out to help Police in their hunt for a a man missing from Annbank in Ayrshire.

70 year-old Graham Johnstone was last seen leaving his home in Whitehill Crescent at 10.40am on Friday.

An extensive search around the pathway at Oswald Bridge in Auchincruive and around that area has been undertaken today after a couple reported seeing a man matching Mr Johnstone’s description around 1145 hrs yesterday.

The man they couple saw was wearning similar clothing to Mr Johnstone’s, with walking boots and carrying what may have been an olive green coloured hat or balaclava.

If this description matches you and you were in and around the Oswald Bridge area around 11.45 yesterday, then please contact Ayr Police Office on 101 as soon as possible.

Mr Johnstone is around 5 ft 8 inches in height, with a medium build, grey hair, slightly balding, is clean shaven and wears glasses.

He was wearing a black zipped top, beige trousers, and a fawn coloured cardigan. He may also be wearing a hat.
