Pedestrian remains in hospital after serious crash in Largs

Police are issuing a fresh appeal for information.

An investigation is continuing following a serious crash in Largs.

It happened on the A78 road, north of St Fillan’s Bridge, around 10.55pm on Friday 29th January.

A 38-year-old pedestrian was taken to the Inverclyde Royal Hospital with serious injuries, where he remains. A 26-year-old woman, who was driving a blue Ford Fusion car, wasn’t hurt.

The road was closed for several hours while investigation work took place.

Sergeant Ian Thornton, of Ayrshire Division’s Road Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the crash or were driving in the area around the time of the crash to come forward. I would also ask anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch."
