Man Charged After Drugs and Gun Raid

A man has appeared in court after police seized guns and drugs in a raid in Ayr.

George Faulds, 50, is accused of having an illegal firearm and ammunition following the operation at a property in the town.

Faulds, of Ayr, is also charged with being concerned in supplying cannabis after being detained in the raid on May 14.

He made no plea nor declaration at Ayr Sheriff Court and was freed on bail for further investigation.

A 17-year-old youth and a woman aged 38 were also held by police but later freed.

A spokesman for the Crown Office said: "After full and careful consideration of the report, the accused were liberated from custody and did not appear in court. "The case remains under consideration by the Procurator Fiscal".
