Man attacked with knife in broad daylight in Irvine

Officers at Saltcoats are continuing inquiries and appealing for information following a serious assault in Irvine on Monday 23 November 2015. Around 1230 hours on Monday, a 28 year old man was walking on Dickson Drive, near to the Coach and Horses pub, when he was attacked by a man with a knife. The suspect then made off up Dickson Drive. The victim was taken to Crosshouse Hospital where he is receiving treatment for a facial stab wound. The suspect is, white, slim to medium build, wearing all dark clothing. Detective Constable Gavin McKellar from Saltcoats CID said: “We are carrying out extensive inquiries including door to door and checking all available CCTV in order to trace the man responsible for this vicious attack. I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident or who has any knowledge about the suspect or the incident to contact officers as a matter of urgency.” Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Saltcoats CID on the non-emergency number, 101.
