Man in serious condition after Kilmarnock street attack

Police want to find whoever is responsible

A man is in a serious condition after being brutally attacked on a Kilmarnock street.

The 36-year-old victim was walking on Wellbeck Street on Thursday, 21st March when he was approached from behind and assaulted.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where hospital staff described his condition as serious but stable.

Now, Ayrshire Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area between 5 pm and 6 pm on the evening of the serious assault and asked locals to check any dashcam footage they may have.

Detective Sergeant Graham Cuthill said: “Enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and gather more information to identify the person responsible for this attack.

“Anyone who was in the area of Wellbeck Street around the times stated is asked to contact us.

"We would also appeal to drivers with dashcam to check their footage and get in touch if they hold anything relevant. Please contact us through 101 quoting incident number 2726 of 23 March.”
