Kilmarnock caretaker boss Lee McCulloch insists no decision has been made yet on his long-term future.
McCulloch, who was placed in charge when Lee Clark quit back in February, has steered Killie to safety and said once their Premiership status was secure, he would discuss his future with the board.
However, he is not sure when those talks will take place, be it now or after the final two league games of the season.
The Rugby Park club retained their top-flight status with a 2-1 win over Caley Thistle, with Sean Longstaff and Jordan Jones ensuring Alex Fisher's consolation mattered little.
They can now relax in the final two matches before McCulloch has his own position clarified.
"I've always said that when we're safe, I imagine a meeting will happen. I don't know if it will be next week but I can say there will be discussions," said McCulloch.
"We've not spoke for two-to-three months, so I don't want to get carried away. I just want to concentrate on this performance - it's our 25th consecutive season in the top flight.
"I'm not a big-headed guy or a talker. Once we sit down we'll have discussions, that's all I can say. It's probably best we do it sooner rather than later.
"I've surprised myself a little bit. But with the managers I've worked under and players I've worked with, I've not got bad experience. It's literally one day at a time and that's the best way to continue to be."
His Caley Thistle counterpart Richie Foran is now needing favours from Ross County on Tuesday night, when they entertain Hamilton, to make sure they still have something to play for at Dundee a day later.
"If Ross County do us that favour I believe we can get out of this. That would add massive pressure on Hamilton going in to the last game of the season," said Foran.
"So we need that result to go our way and if we can get three points against Dundee then you never know.
"It does not stick in the throat that it's Ross County, not at all. I'm sure County will go out and do everything they can to win that football game.
"So we need a bit of luck, we need a couple of results to go our way but then we need to take care of our business. We've still got a small chance, we'll still keep believing and tell the lads to get their heads up and be proud of their performance."
