New M&S Foodhall coming to Largs this year
A new M&S Foodhall is set to open in Largs in winter 2023
Largs is among 20 UK locations that is set to have a brand-new Marks & Spencer shop open this year.
Today M&S announced a sum of nearly half a billion pounds worth of investment across stores in the UK.
With a total of £480m being injected into the retailers new stores, it is set to create more than 3,400 new jobs with a portion of them being in North Ayrshire.
The Largs branch of the new M&S will be one of 12 foodhalls being opened as part of the new investment.
The store in the North Ayrshire seaside town is set to open as early as winter 2023, according to bosses, and will take up 9,000 sq ft of land.
Stuart Machin, Chief Executive of M&S commented: “Our store rotation programme is about making sure we have the right stores, in the right place, with the right space and we’re aiming to rotate from the 247 stores we have today to 180 higher quality, higher productivity full line stores that sell our full Clothing, Home and Food offer whilst also opening over 100 bigger, better food sites.
“The out performance of our recently relocated and renewed stores, give us the confidence to go faster in our plan.
“Our investment in stores not only delivers a better experience for customers and colleagues, it boosts local communities with new job creation and will help us deliver a more sustainable estate in every sense.”
