Knife Found In Saltcoats Murder Hunt

Published 11th Sep 2015

A knife's been recovered by police investigating the murder of a pensioner in his Saltcoats home last month.

72-year old Malcolm Ballantyne, who was a popular and well known local figure, was found in Glebe Place in the early hours of the 21st of August by a relative.

It's believed the weapon was found in a nearby park along with a number of other items which will now be forensically analysed.

The discovery comes just days after police released CCTV footage of a man on a BMX they want to speak to.

CRIMESTOPPERS have offered a £10,000 reward for information.
