Kilmarnock have been handed a trip to Belgium to play Cercle Brugge KSV in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.

Kilmarnock earned their first foray into European football since 2019 with a stunning campaign, finishing fourth in the Scottish Premiership.

Their opponents enjoyed similar success last season in the Belgian Pro League, finishing in fourth place above the likes of Genk and Royal Antwerp to qualify for European football for the first time since 2010.

Derek McInnes’ side will be hoping to make a better account of themselves than that infamous occasion when, under Angelo Alessio, Kilmarnock were embarrassed by Welsh minnows Connah's Quay Nomads – losing 2-0 at Rugby Park and 3-2 on aggregate.

This season’s Europa League second qualifying round ties are scheduled be played over two legs on Thursday 25th July and Thursday August 1st, with the winners advancing to round three, and the losers entering the third round of qualification for the Europa Conference League.

Kilmarnock were drawn first meaning the first leg will be played at Rugby Park.

Match dates and kick-off times will be confirmed by Wednesday July 26th.
