Brace yourself the Karen’s are coming to Ayr.

If you’re a fan of good food and dreadful customer service to complain about then you’re in luck.

The world-famous Karen’s diner is coming to Ayr for three days in April to deliver an unforgettable dining experience.

Unwelcoming, back-chatting staff combined with poor service will have customers in stitches before they’ve even seen a plate of food.

Originally starting in Australia and named after a stereotypical difficult customer who ‘demands to speak with the manager’, Karen’s diner is a theatrical and interactive dining experience aimed at putting customers out their comfort zone.

Don’t worry though, as customers are encouraged to join in the fun and throw in as many complaints as they can. But will the staff care? Probably not.

Videos on social media have seen the dining experience rise to fame in the past couple of years.

It’s coming to Ayr Central Park Diner on Boswell Road on the 28th,29th and 30th of April.

Prank the grandparents

Co-owner of the venue, Tracy Anne McGregor is telling West FM what customers can expect after she approached the company to come to Ayrshire.

She said: “As soon as I sent them the photographs of what our restaurant looks like, they instantly got back to me saying it’s exactly what they were looking for. So, it was really made for this experience.

“They’re receiving a kind of play of rude customer service from the staff, but they’re also allowed to give it back.

“So, they’re coming in for a two-hour window, to experience waiters and waitresses speaking back to you and being rude to you.

“But it’s all kind of tongue in cheek as long as everyone is having a laugh.

“I can see a lot of people already saying they should bring their grandparents to the event and not tell them that the rude customer service is part of the experience, so that will be entertaining.”

Tickets for the event start from £40 which includes a two-course meal and 3 drink tokens.
