John McGinn says he's raring to go for Scotland after fighting off self-isolation cravings.

The Aston Villa midfielder missed Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to Denmark after testing positive for Covid-19 last week.

He also sat out of two games for his club side after being forced to stay at home.

McGinn returned to training on Thursday and says he has managed to maintain a good level of fitness after working hard from home.

However, the 26-year old joked that may not have always been the case.

He said: "I'm chomping at the bit. I'm probably the worst guy to be in the house for 10 days but I managed to get through it.

“If it was maybe 3 or 4 years ago I would’ve been getting Deliveroo every night.

“Maybe ordered a wee can of Tennent’s at the same time - but you just can’t do that these days!

"You just can't afford it, you get left behind.

"I'm fortunate Aston Villa dropped off a treadmill so I was trying to stay as fit as possible and keep my head right.

"Glad to be back with the boys and I hope I can help out".
