Man arrested & 46-year-old in hospital after 'disturbance' in Irvine

There was a 'disturbance' involving two men in the early hours of Thursday morning in the Paterson Avenue area.

A man has been arrested and another hospitalised after a ‘disturbance’ during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Officers in Ayrshire were called to the scene at around 1:50am on Thursday 6 July, after reports of disturbance in Irvine.

The incident happened in the Paterson Avenue area of Irvine, and left a 46-year-old man in the local hospital.

Another man, 42 was arrested for the incident as police remain at Paterson Avenue today to make further enquiries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.50am on Thursday, 6 July, 2023, we were called to a report of a disturbance in the Paterson Avenue area of Irvine.

“Emergency services attended and a 46-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse for treatment.

“A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

“Officers remain at the scene.”
