Homes Evacuated After Potential Explosives Discovered
Twelve people have been evacuated from their homes on Gateside Street in West Kilbride after reports of loud bangs from a garden in the area at around 6.30 yesterday evening.
Police recovered a quantity of potentially explosive materials from a property and bomb disposal teams are conducting tests.
Investigators remain at the scene and a 21 year old man is in Police custody in relation to the incident.
