Hunterston shortlisted for site of new train factory
The move could bring up to 1,000 jobs to Ayrshire
Hunterston has been shortlisted as the potential site for a new train factory.
Rolling stock engineering firm Talgo is looking to build a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant and is now looking at six locations across the UK - with the area near West Kilbride one of them.
The move could potentially bring around 1,000 jobs to the area, with Talgo meeting stakeholders in Edinburgh on Wednesday to discuss the proposals.
A final decision is due next month.
