Family of one of the Glasgow bin lorry victims paid £800,000 compensation

The family of one of the Glasgow bin lorry crash victims has been been given £800,000 in compensation.
52-year old Gillian Ewing was one of six killed in the 2014 tragedy when Harry Clarke blacked out at the wheel of the refuse truck.
Glasgow City Council agreed the compensation with the family - however it is not known if they admitted liability.
A spokesman for Digby Brown Solicitors said: 'We can confirm we have now settled all our civil claims associated with the family of Gillian who they described as a much loved mother, daughter sister and partner.
'This has been a life-changing and traumatic three years for the family.
'Now at least they can hopefully start looking to the future and rebuilding their lives.'
18-year old Erin McQuade and her grandparents Jack Sweeney, who was 68, and Lorraine Sweeney, 69, from Dumbarton were also killed, along with 29-year old Stephanie Tait and 51-year old Jacqueline Morton - both from Glasgow.
