On a clear November night in 2013 – a Police Scotland EC135 helicopter tumbled out of the night sky, through the roof of the Clutha Vaults pub around 10.30pm, killing all three crew on board as well as seven customers inside the bar.

An Air Accident Investigation Branch report into the tragedy found the pilot Cpt. David Traill’s mismanagement of fuel led to the engines flaming out – and just last week we heard no one will face prosecution over the crash.

Victims may have received compensation from the helicopter’s manufacturer – but a Fatal Accident Inquiry into what happened in the cockpit on Friday 29th November is yet to take place. It’s thought to be the most complex and most expensive case in Scottish legal history.

For a group of friends from across Glasgow, it was a regular monthly trip to the Clutha to enjoy the music, get a few drinks in, then the last train home.

But one wouldn’t return to his family.

Joe Cusker was the final victim to be named – he died two weeks later in hospital. His best friends Danny Docherty and John Robson has been speaking exclusively to us on the fourth anniversary.
