Drugs and Cash Recovered in Ayr Raid

Drugs and cash have been seized in Ayr after an raid on a property in the Mill Street area.

Police recieved a tip off and forced their way into the building where they found class A and class B drugs.

A 42 year old man was arrested for allegedly being connected to the supply of drugs and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police Constable Lorraine Mackin who is currently attached to Operation Almema said: “Once again, vital intelligence from our communities has resulted in quantities of drugs and cash being seized.

“Drugs and the proceeds of criminal activity can cause untold harm to our communities and Police Scotland is committed to tackling all forms of criminality.

“We will continue to act on information from the public to bring those responsible to justice.

Operation Almema was launched earlier this year in response to concerns raised by residents in Ayr. Police continue to work with local residents and partner agencies in the area to keep people safe.
