Detectives hunt Irvine hit and run driver

Officers are appealing for information following a hit and run on Monday 11 January 2016.

Around 1705 hours, a cyclist on the B769 Irvine to Stewarton Road was struck by a vehicle near to West Labroughton Farm. The cyclist appears to have been hit by a red Ford Focus car (model possibly 2010 onward). The car failed to stop and continued on the B769 towards Stewarton.

Emergency services attended and the victim, aged 29 was taken to Crosshouse hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. He has since been released.

Officers believe the car in question could have damage to its wing mirror or bonnet and are appealing for any information or witnesses.
