Kilmarnock boss Lee Clark will put his faith in young goalkeeper Conor Brennan for Saturday's clash with Hamilton after failing to have Jamie MacDonald's one-game ban overturned.

MacDonald was sent off against Inverness last weekend after bringing down Caley Thistle midfielder Ross Draper in the box but the Rugby Park outfit's appeal was rejected.

Killie are boosted, however, for the crucial clash against their play-off rivals by the return of midfielder Craig Slater (illness), while striker Josh Magennis could also feature if he can prove his fitness after an ankle injury.

Defenders Steven Smith (hip), David Syme (fractured leg) and Mark Connolly (hip) are out for the season but winger Chris Johnston (knee) is inching towards his return.

Provisional squad: Brennan, Hodson, McHattie, Balatoni, Findlay, Ashcroft, Slater, Dicker, Higginbotham, Obadeyi, Carrick, McKenzie, Boyd, Kiltie, Magennis, Frizzell, O'Hara, Faubert, Westlake, Addison, Henshall, McKay.
