Police are attempting to locate a 63 year-old man missing from his home since the afternoon of Sunday 5 July 2015.

Joseph McAlees was last seen at his home address by family in Kilwinning at around 1630 hours when he left to visit relatives in Greenock. His family has had no contact since that time. Joseph routinely takes medicine and it is unknown if he has his medication with him. His family are very worried and there is growing concern for his wellbeing.

Joseph is described as a white man with a local accent, approximately 5 foot 8 inches in height and has a medium build. Joseph keeps his hair short and wears glasses.

When Joseph was last seen he was wearing a pale blue adidas jacket, blue jeans and black nike trainers. He was also wearing a blue adidas back pack and a black hold-all.

Police Inspector Jim McMillan, of Irvine Police office, said today:

“It is out of character for Joseph not to be in touch with his family. He has never gone missing before and given the fact that no-one has seen or heard from him concern for his wellbeing is growing. I am appealing to anyone who may have any information as where Joseph may be is asked to contact us.”

Officers from Irvine police office are appealing for anyone who may have any knowledge as to Joseph’s whereabouts to get in touch with them via the non-emergency 101 number.
