Ally also managed Scotland during their World Cup campaign in Argentina in 1978 and his supporters say that it's because of the teams failure to win the tournament that McCloud has so far been passed over.

The official Facebook campaign, by McClouds daughter, is now being now being aided local man Colin Dodds - who's started his own - it's even been backed by Ayr favourite Somerset Boab and it's gained more than 15-hundred likes in a week.

Fans hope this makes the SFA sit up and take notice.
