Ayrshire police warn teens about posting explicit images online

Parents are being asked to keep a closer eye on what their kids are up to online after a spike in indecent images posted on Social Media.

With the rise in popularity of apps such as snapchat and instagram officers are seeing a spike in concerning pictures posted on social media.

Police in Ayrshire are reminding us that it's a crime under the sexual offences act and could result in a custodial sentance, criminal record and the person being placed on the sex offencers register.

A growing number of young people are being bullied because of photos they've shared.
