Two arrested as man put in hospital after Auchinleck assault

Police confirmed a man, 29, and a woman, 25, will appear in Ayr Sherriff Court today.

A man has been rushed to hospital following an assault in Ayrshire on Sunday.

Police have confirmed an incident on Old Avenue, Auchinleck occurred around 5:45pm on Sunday 20 March.

Following the assault, a 30-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock. There have been no updates on his condition yet.

Now, two people have been arrested this morning and charged in connection with the incident.

One man, 29, and a woman, 25, are due to appear in Ayr Sherriff court today (March 21).

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.45pm on Sunday, March 20, police received a report of a man having been assaulted in Old Avenue, Auchinleck.

“Emergency services attended and a 30-year-old man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock.

“A 29-year-old man and 25-year-old woman have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

"They are due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, March 21.

“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
