Attempted Murder In Girvan

An investigation has been launched after a man was found seriously injured in the street in Girvan on Monday 3 August 2015.

At around 2.30am, police and emergency services responded to a reports of a man lying seriously injured on Bridge Street in Girvan.

The 23 year-old man was taken to Ayr Hospital and was later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

The incident is being treated as attempted murder and police are following a number of lines of enquiry.

Detective Inspector Alan Sommerville of Ayr police office said today:

“We understand that there was a disturbance on Bridge Street in the early hours of Monday morning which has left a man seriously injured.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour on Bridge Street at the time of the incident is asked to contact police at Ayr Police office.”
