The hunt for a missing Kilmarnock man is over after a member of the public in Argyll heard our on air appeal and reported where he was to police.

35 year-old David O’Donnel from Onthank hadn’t been seen since he left work in Cumnock on Monday 1 June 2015.

But he was seen on CCTV at a number of locations across the country including the Forth Road Bridge coming into Edinburgh and the M8 Westbound near to Harthill Service Station.

His mum Diane spoke to us and put out an emotional appeal for him to get in touch and for the public to help track him down.

It was this appeal that struck a chord with a member of the public in Argyll. They spotted David in his car and immediately contacted police.

Detectives were able to get to him and say he is safe and well.
